Ed Le Cara

Ed has worked as a strength and conditioning coach, athletic trainer, and chiropractor for over 23 years. He earned a Ph.D. in Athletic Training with a research emphasis on motor control and morphology of the lumbar multifidus muscles. His original research was published in May 2014 in Archives of Physical Medicine.   

Ed was the VP of Sports Science and Human Performance at the 24-Hour Fitness Corporate offices in San Ramon, CA until July 2013. He held hospital privileges at the VA Northern California Health Care System from 2009 to 2013. He has served on the medical team of numerous professional, college, and high school athletic training staffs. 

In 2011, Ed joined the teaching cadre at RockTape and contributed to the development and implementation of many of their programs. He taught over 100 RockTape courses and finished with RockTape as their director of Transglobal education in 2015. Since 2015, Dr. Le Cara has been the director of Education at SmartTools Plus and has developed the education for IASTM and Blood Flow Restriction Training.  

After 14 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, he relocated to Dallas, TX in 2014 to open KinetikChain. KinetikChain is a commercial athletic training room and sports medicine center. Ed then opened numerous KinetikChain clinics in Denver, CO from 2016-2018.  

Since 2018, Ed has owned and operated a multidisciplinary Wellness and Regenerative Medicine Clinic, Body Lounge Park Cities, in Dallas, TX. Body Lounge Park Cities offers a variety of medical aesthetic, wellness, and conservative sports medicine treatment options in a patient-centered environment.   

Dr. Le Cara likes to write, publish, and present at conferences. He contributed two Chapters in the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) corrective exercise specialty textbook published in 2020. As a lifelong learner, Ed graduated from nursing school in September 2023 and plans to graduate in 2025 with a Nurse Practitioner degree.   

For fun, Ed teaches in two master’s level sports medicine and exercise and health programs (Parker University and Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions) and teaches continuing education for healthcare providers internationally. He lives in Dallas, TX with his partner, Copper, and her children, enjoys traveling, IPA’s, and Georgia Bulldog Football.
