The CSP conducts, presents, and publishes research and engages in consultations specifically related to the improvement of sports performance through the application of the sub-disciplines on Kinesiology (Biomechanics, Athletic Training, Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Sport Psychology, Muscle Physiology, etc.). The MEPL performs innovative and impactful human performance research by studying the acute responses and chronic adaptations of skeletal muscle (from the whole muscle down to the single cell, molecule, & gene) to high-intensity, power, or force exercise. Andy has published >50 peer-reviewed papers in human performance, >100 abstracts and conference presentations, and multiple books and book chapters. He has presented at dozens of international and national professional conferences for sports coaches, scientists, the military, and more. He also regularly appears on podcasts around the world and in popular magazines, TV, and other media outlets. Andy serves as a reviewer and/or editor for >20 peer-reviewed scientific journals. Faye Deane graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2007 and has 17 years of experience in private chiropractic practice. She successfully integrated functional medicine into her clinical approach while serving as the first-team chiropractor for professional football clubs, including Sheffield United and Leeds United. Faye holds a master’s in international public health from the University of York. She is pursuing a PhD in Musculoskeletal Health Policy and Systems Research at Teesside University, focusing on strengthening musculoskeletal healthcare systems in the UK. Â

Dr Kirk is a chiropractic sports physician who has worked internationally with top performers from various disciplines. He has been a clinician for 20 years with a special focus on performance and rehabilitation. In addition to his clinical work, he has been engaged in education for the past 5 years as an assistant professor at Parker University supervising chiropractic interns and adjunct professor instructing at post graduate degree programs including Advanced Strength and Conditioning, Cardiovascular Health and Exercise and Health. He has provided sports medicine services to both professional athletes and high-level organizations. In addition to his consultancy work, he was also regional assessor for the Gatorade Sports Science Institute Latin America and Caribbean. Dr. Kirk is currently a clinical specialist at Parker Performance Institute and lead clinician on the Human Performance program at Parker University. Dr. Kirk received his bachelor’s degrees from Dundee University in Science and Physiological Science. He received his Master of Science in Chiropractic from the University of Surry and a Post Graduate Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of South Wales. Dr. Kirk also holds a master’s degree in clinical Neuroscience from Parker University. Dr. Tommy Wood is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neuroscience at the University of Washington, where his research focuses on brain health across the lifespan. This includes therapies for newborn brain injury, prevention and treatment of adult brain trauma, and factors that contribute to long-term cognitive function, cognitive decline, and dementia risk. Tommy received an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, a medical degree from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of Oslo. Alongside his academic training, Tommy has worked as a performance consultant to elite athletes in multiple sports, particularly Formula 1 drivers.
